Adam and Jack Complete the Great South Run
On 15th October 2023, two of our team members from Brickmongers Wessex took part in the Great South Run. Jack and Adam completed the 10-mile running event in aid of Cancer Research UK, raising £680 between them.
The Great South Run takes place along the coast of Portsmouth, with the salty air, glorious sea views, music and local support all helping to keep up spirits and motivation, as the runners tackle the 10-mile stretch. Both Adam and Jack finished the run in under 2 hours, with Jack running it in 1hr 44 minutes and Adam running it in 1hr 54 minutes.
Cancer Research UK are keen supporters of the Great South Run, with their own ‘cheering teams’ encouraging runners along the route. For the last 120 years, Cancer Research UK have been making discoveries that save lives, whilst in the past 50 years, they’ve helped double cancer survival in the UK. All this great work is made possible by the vital funds raised for cancer research, as described in their ‘Together we are beating cancer’ motto.
