Sustainable Brick Slips
To do what’s right for the planet and to help projects meet their sustainability requirements, we are proud to offer a brick cladding with great sustainability benefits.
- Sustainabrick® brick slips are purpose-made to size, meaning no material is wasted and no dust is created through the cutting process.
- Our slips are cured at an ambient working temperature within 24hrs, so no high-heat kiln or gas is used to fire and dry the bricks.
- The slips are 40% thinner than standard brick slips, which are themselves over 50% thinner than traditional brick. Due to this weight reduction, one artic wagon can transport the equivalent of six artic wagons of bricks, therefore reducing transport emissions when delivering to site.
- A thinner slip also means a lighter slip, causing less strain on backing structures and project foundations.
- The Sustainabrick® wall build up includes mineral wool, providing the system with low U-values.
- Sustainabrick® brick slips are all manufactured in the UK by Monolith Brick & Stone, a certified carbon-neutral company. Following delivery to site, Monolith offers a service to recycle the packaging materials, reducing on-site waste.
