Transpennine Real Ale Trail 2023
On the 9th June, to celebrate some recent significant work anniversaries within the team, as well as get together for a day of team bonding and fun, our teams at LBT Facades and CPG Building Supplies completed the Transpennine Real Ale trail. The trail is a unique trip on a train to visit a selection of Yorkshire and Lancashire's best real ale pubs!
The trail has eight stops that cover a range of historic locations from Stalybridge in Great Manchester, to Batley in West Yorkshire. Venues include The Railway Inn in Greenfield which has been around for over 150 years and is a member of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and the Good Cider Guide, as well as West Riding in Dewsbury, which is situated in the original waiting room on platform 2 of Dewsbury train station. All locations are situated either inside the train stations, on the line or within an easy walking distance.
The trail has featured in the BBC series Oz and James Drink to Britain and now attracts a regular crowd on weekends. The LBT and CPG teams used the opportunity for some cross-business bonding and a fantastic day was had by all!
