As well as offering a wide range of brick and building materials, we’re also a timber supplier.

We understand the importance of using good quality timber on site, that’s why we only stock timber from sawmills and distributors that use sustainable sources.

Once with us, all timber and sheet materials are stored inside our Surrey warehouse and then delivered with care, ensuring our customers receive only high-quality products.

We’ve detailed the range of timber that we stock below, however if you’re looking for specialist timber machining and bespoke products, we have the facilities to match exact sizes, both in hardwood, softwood and fire rated timber.

What timber is best for a decking frame?

To offer the best strength and support to your deck, C24 should be used for a decking frame. We stock and supply C24 as this has the higher strength and will accommodate all decking frame requirements, including those for large and commercial areas.

What timber is used in construction?

For applications such as timber framing, roof trusses, studwork or floor and deck joists, it’s recommended that construction timber is used. This is most commonly C16 or C24 but can also come in the form of TR26 and CLS.

The ‘C’ in C16 and C24 stands for conifer, which means that the timber used comes from a coniferous species. This is commonly pine, fir and spruce. The 16 and 24 then refers to bending strength, with C16 being 16N/mm2 while C24 is 24N/mm2.

Where can I pick up timber near me?

All our timber products are stocked at our Alfiam Building Supplies depot in Send, where all timber is stored safely on racks in our 22,000sq ft warehouse. Whatever the weather your timber will be in great condition.
