Is your softwood decking FSC and PEFC certified?

Yes, where possible we have sourced all our forestry products through our FSC and PEFC chain of custody. This means that all material is held to rigorous standards and originates from sustainably managed forests.

We’ve included our FSC and PEFC certifications in our useful resources section above, however if you’d like further information on how we source our timber decking, please do get in touch.

Is timber decking slippery?

Though timber decking can become slippery when wet, there are a number of ways to prevent this occurrence. Firstly, there are slip-resistant profiles, such as those with deep grooves, which will naturally offer greater grip underfoot.

In addition to these groves, you can also purchase anti-slip strips to add to your timber decking, or we can offer decking that comes with the anti-slip finish already applied. Finally, slipping on timber decking can be reduced through careful maintenance that includes removing debris and adding a high-quality sealant to your surface.

What is the lifespan of timber decking?

Depending on the timber that you choose, the lifespan of your product will change.

Softwood decking will generally last between 10-15 years, while a hardwood option may last a lot longer. We also offer [composite decking](https://brickability.co.uk/landscaping/composite-prime-decking) that can last up to 40 years and comes with a 25 year limited warranty for residential applications.
