In partnership with global mesh manufacturer, ItalMesh, we can offer more than 300 formats of expanded metal meshes as standard. We’re also equally practiced in working with architects and specifiers to create truly bespoke designs to meet project requirements. Once we've worked with you to create your individual mesh design, we can offer a wide range of A1 fire rated anodised finishes and a dynamic range of A2 fire rated powder coated colours and textures. Taking a single sheet of your chosen metal, an expanding machine simultaneously cuts and stretches it to create the uniform holes or ‘eyes’ of expanded mesh. Depending on your chosen mesh format, the quantity of cuts and expansion is adjusted accordingly. What is the difference between expanded mesh and perforated metal? The expanded mesh process requires taking a single sheet of metal and then cutting and stretching it to your requirements. Alternately, perforated metal cladding involves taking the sheet of metal and either punching, stamping or lasering holes into the sheet to create your desired pattern. In both instances, it’s important to seek technical guidance as the size and number of cuts or perforations will significantly impact the resulting design. What metals are available to me for my expanded mesh cladding? Our expanded mesh cladding is available in multiple alloys, including iron, aluminium, stainless steel, weathering steel, copper and brass. As well as our variety of perforations and finishes, our expanded mesh can be produced in thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm up to 5mm. How can I achieve a bespoke mesh cladding facade? Our teams are here to help you achieve a completely bespoke cladding solution. Working with our manufacturing partners, we combine experience and expertise to create innovative, customised solutions to your design ideas. Bring us your concept and even if it’s something we’ve never seen before, we’ll work with you to make it happen. Is expanded mesh cladding a sustainable choice? Due to its beginnings as a single sheet of metal, expanded mesh cladding is inherently a sustainable choice as through as its manufacturing process results in very little waste of the raw material. Metal is also a durable choice that is 100% recyclable. Furthermore, our manufacturing partners, ItalMesh, put sustainability at the forefront of their business. They use sustainable technologies with low environmental impact and source 100% recyclable materials. In what ways can I incorporate expanded mesh into my project? There are many ways that expanded mesh can be used on your project both externally and internally. Externally, mesh can be used as a sunscreen, as a rainscreen and as re-cladding on projects.
