The knapped flint is then pressed into each block by hand, giving each block a completely unique look. Then, the blocks can be laid in a similar way to conventional concrete blocks, without a backing wall, before being pointed. This results in the gorgeous traditional effect of loose laid flint, with only half the amount of time and labour used to achieve the same quality finish. As well as using naturally occurring materials such as flint and stone, the flint blocks are produced in an almost waste free and near carbon net zero facility. Furthermore, the facility is purely run on solar power and all production water used comes from rainwater. Available as both knapped and un-knapped flint, stone or marble, each piece is hand-cut by an experienced team before being packed into large bags for transportation. Each bag weights approximately 1 tonne and has coverage of approximately 6-8sqm depending on the stone size and how the product is to be laid. ½ tonne bags are also available. These bags can be made supply to order, or you can pick up stock from our[ yard location in Hampshire](/locations?businessId=102&productId=6799&target=). ## Your questions answered What dimensions do your flint blocks come in? The dimensions of a standard flint block are 440 x 215 x 100mm however other dimensions and shapes, such as angle and gable blocks, can also be ordered. Further dimensions are: - ¾ Block: 330 x 215 x 100mm - ½ Block: 220 x 215 x 100mm - ¼ Block: 110 x 215 x 100mm - 6″ Block: 440 x 150 x 100mm - Thin Block: 440 x 65 x 100mm Our ¾ , ½ and ¼ sized blocks are used so that your installation bonds can continue without the need for cutting on site. How to lay flint blocks Flint blocks can be laid in the same way that clay, stone or concrete blocks can be laid - by using a traditional stretcher or running bond, where your flint blocks overlap each other at the midway point. This offers an efficient and durable installation, plus a simple structure to point with mortar for a seamless finish. What can flint be used for? Flint and flint blocks are traditionally used to create timeless facades and retaining walls. However, if you’d like to continue this attractive and authentic finish across your project, we can also offer bespoke flint that can be used in paths and driveways.
